Minimally Invasive and Open Spine Surgery

Focus areas

Conditions treated.

A working list of what comes through the clinic most often, across both surgical and nonsurgical care.

Lumbar disc herniation

Disc material presses on a nerve root, most often causing leg pain that outweighs the back pain.

L-spine

Spinal stenosis

The canal narrows around the cord or nerves, typically giving pain and heaviness that ease on sitting or leaning forward.

L / C-spine

Degenerative spondylolisthesis

One vertebra has slipped forward on the one beneath it, usually with arthritic narrowing alongside.

L-spine

Cervical radiculopathy

A pinched nerve in the neck, felt as pain, numbness or weakness travelling down the arm.

C-spine

Cervical myelopathy

Pressure on the spinal cord itself. Hand clumsiness and a change in balance matter more here than pain does.

C-spine

Cervical stenosis

Narrowing of the neck's canal, watched closely or decompressed depending on what the cord is doing.

C-spine

Spinal instability

Movement between segments that has become abnormal, where holding the level still is part of the answer.

L / T-spine

Degenerative disc disease

Age-related change in the disc, which becomes a problem only when it is genuinely the source of the symptoms.

L / C-spine

Vertebrogenic (Modic) low back pain

Midline back pain arising from the vertebral endplate, identified on MRI by Modic change.

L-spine

Recurrent disc herniation

A herniation returning at a level already operated on, which changes what the next operation should be.

Patient experiences

I chose to walk away from a different surgeon and instead have Dr. Zaidi operate on my spine based off of recommendations from friends in the medical field. Every good thing you hear about him is absolutely true.
Brent M.
I had a bulging disc in my neck. He got me in quickly for an MRI and suggested surgery. Same-day surgery went well. Very little scarring and hardly any after surgery pain or discomfort.
Perry M.
Dr. Zaidi has been wonderful through my entire journey from misery to fused. He is kind, patient, answers questions thoroughly, and is up-to-date on new surgical techniques.
Danielle B.
Dr. Zaidi did a wonderful job with my back surgery. Within 24 hours I could already tell a huge difference with the numbness and tingling in both feet and legs.
Jennifer
The folks here are top notch. Dr Zaidi was amazing. He took his time with me and I know, as a retired RN, he's up there with the best.
Wendy W.
Very personable. Very matter of fact. Not aggressive with treatment plan; starts slow in order to try all options to avoid surgery.
Kaye M.
I am impressed with my neck fusion and now seeing him for my low back.
Angie D.
Dr. Zaidi performed my microdiscectomy on my far lateral herniation. He is very skilled and was so kind before, during, and after my surgery. Three months post op and I am back to my old self.
Tiffany B.
Dr. Zaidi is an excellent surgeon. My back was an absolute mess. This is the best I have felt in 2 years. I can finally walk without any pain.
Peggy C.
After my surgery for a pinched nerve I could barely believe it. The pain was gone and no more tingling in my hands.
Sandi M.
This was my 2nd back fusion and if I have to have any other back operations, I will go back to him.
Susan Y.
I put my trust in him and he did not let me down. He did a great job of laminectomy and now I can walk. This is why I've gone back to him with some other spinal problems.
Mark K.
Doctor Zaidi did an excellent job. He was professional and I woke up pain free.
